Better luck next time boys.Year 8 vs. Wyvern Academy– After only one training session together, new manager, Mr Carline put together a new squad to face a stern first test from Wyvern. There was huge competition for places in the squad and this first game saw a lot of squad rotation. It was fantastic to see so many of our Year 8’s turn up to represent the Academy. The game was played with high a level of discipline, effort and sportsmanship but unfortunately, the result did not go our way. However, as this was only Mr Carline’s first challenge as the new manager it is safe to say that his job is safe for now!

Y10 Team vs. Carmel

Cameron Elder

Owen Littlefair

Michael Pattison

Josh Taylor

Jack Crilly

Matthew Moody

Tyler Hutchinson

Brandon Mallaburn

Ellis Creighton

Mason Hague

Jack Paylor

Herbie Gallagher

Y10 vs. Carmel – This Year 10 squad have a lot of ability and this shone in another very difficult first test for a St. Aidan’s team. Mr Henry led out the boys who have had the fortune of being able to play alongside each other for a number of years now. Their warm up was thorough and St. Aidan’s looked the part all in the royal blue kit. The game started positively and it looked as though the game could sway either way. There were some fantastic skills on show from Ellis Creighton and Brandon Mallaburn while Josh Taylor and Owen Littlefair looked solid at the back. As the match went on unfortunately Carmel began to take a grasp of the game and took the lead. A goal was soon pulled back with a tidy finish in the second half by Brandon Mallaburn after some superb work down the left wing by Ellis Creighton. Regrettably Carmel again took the lead and this then led to St. Aidan’s coming away from their first test of the 2017-18 season in defeat. With the strength in the squad it is certain that if they keep their heads up they will soon bring success to St. Aidan’s Academy once again.
