The purpose of the academy council is to give our pupils the opportunity to develop leadership skills by organising and carrying out Academy activities and projects. The academy council is the voice of the pupil body - the most important voice in the academy. Pupils will share ideas, interest and concerns with academy staff.
Pupils will have the opportunity to present ideas which will be voted upon and confirmed by other pupils in the year group. This is a brilliant opportunity for the personal development of our pupils.
To be appointed as a member of the academy council pupils have to apply outlining their skills, experiences and personal qualities. There are different subgroups that pupils can be part of based on their interests. The subgroups include the quality of their education, teaching and learning, behaviour and attitudes and personal development.
Members of the academy council will take part in meetings with their year team, including their tutors and heads of year and senior leaders in the academy.
