Primary Transition information
We have tried incredibly hard to hold a half day transition day at St Aidan’s during this half term.
This is unfortunately not going to happen due to ever present COVID concerns and lockdown restrictions not being lifted.
To help you visualise life at St Aidan's, we have created a series of videos that you can watch which allows you to see our academy through they eyes of a year 7 pupil. These videos will soon be available on the website but our feeder primaries can access them immediately through the Basecamp site.
We are holding our Summer School on Monday 19 July – Friday 23 July.
Summer School will run from 10.00am – 2.00pm. All pupils will require a packed lunch and a drink. Please do not include fizzy drinks, cans, or energy drinks in your child’s packed lunch.
The Summer School curriculum will cover:
We will be dedicating our Summer School in its entirety to our new Year 7 pupils. We are confident that you and your child will feel far more relaxed regarding school to school transition as a result of this.
There will be opportunities during the week for you to ask questions if you have any concerns or worries.
Our compulsory uniform, which includes our Academy branded PE kit can only be purchased at Trutex Direct on their online store: www.trutex.com . Register/Sign in using our LEA code – LEA00932SC. Please note alternatives to the Academy uniform and PE kit are not acceptable. Compulsory Academy uniform items are blazer, tie, skirt, trousers, PE shorts and PE t-shirt.
Black school shoes and NOT black trainers are the expectation for all pupils from September.
Should you have any further questions on transition, please find contact details below of transition leads. When your child starts with us the main points of contact are the Form Tutor and the Head of Year 7.

We anticipate that all pupils that are joining year 7 in September should now have received a letter inviting them to the transition event. If you are concerned that you have not yet received an invitation, please contact Mrs Whillis using the email address shown above or contact main reception via telephone and provide details of your child's name and primary school.
