Students accessing a Science GCSE course took part in a STEM event which allowed out of school agency’s being invited into school not only to promote STEM, but also to engage students in team building events.
Throughout the day, students were grouped together and discussed business techniques needed for success. Through team building exercises, group discussions and a range of activities, students were given the task to create a successful water filtering system using a range of materials and engineering skills available. Each group were tasked with the challenge of create the product, advertising and budgeting in order to be successful.
The day was filled with challenges and problems, but through teamwork and cross curricular skill, most products were successful and were pitched extremely confidently to the whole year group.
