Transition week will run from Monday 25th June to Friday 29th June. All students who have accepted their secondary place at St. Aidan’s will be invited to join us for the week. Students will take part in a range of activities through a cross-curricular approach to learning.
Students will be placed in tutor groups and will have the opportunity to meet both their form tutor and their Head of Year.
On the Thursday before transition week (Thursday 21st June) both parents and students will be invited into the academy so that students can receive their timetable for the week and meet their new form tutor.
This is a very exciting time for students and we can’t wait to meet our next year 7 cohort.
Each of our year groups is represented by students as part of the academy council team. Each year group is led by Two Year captains.
The academy council meet weekly to discuss a range of topics, including teaching and learning, the academy ethos, standards and expectations and student well being. Year captains lead year group teams and work closely with their Head of Year.
Throughout the year there are a range of activities for students to take part in to collect house points for their house (Bede, Cuthbert, Hilda and Wilfrid). Activities include enterprise week and sports day. Points can also be collected for 100% attendance and attitudes to learning.
