On Tuesday 19th September we hosted our first Year 6 Open evening of the year, for Primary students and their parents. The evening involved a welcome presentation by the Principal Mrs Gibbon, tours of the Academy observing actual lessons across all subject areas and samples of our fantastic catering services at the end of the evening.
Students and parents were also given the opportunity to ask staff and students questions. The evening was a huge success and was attended by over 180 students and parents/carers.
The feedback we received from students and parents who attended the evening was incredibly positive:
“I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and it was a good opportunity to meet staff and ask questions”
“I’m looking forward to starting St. Aidan’s, I’m definitely coming here”
“I loved the French lesson with Ms Micah, her lessons seem fun”
“It was interesting to see the Year 11 Maths lesson, to see students being stretched at GCSE level”
If you missed the event don’t worry, we have the following upcoming events;
Year 6 students from our feeder primary schools are invited to come and take part in a Science taster day led by our Science department
Alternatively you can contact reception and make an appointment to come and visit the school and meet our Transition team.
