In line with its Christian ethos, the Academy engages with the local community and wider society both at home and abroad in a spirit of sharing and giving.
We have forged links with local charity groups, the local parish church and our primary schools. We invite members of the community to our school productions and are looking forward to arranging activities such as tea mornings for our senior citizens. The academy facilities are also available for community groups to hire.
The Academy continues to develop its links with the community and has developed this new website to help enhance communication.
Some of the recent donations and activities to help causes locally and overseas have included:
A cake sale to pay for the shipping of a sewing machine the academy donated to help women in Uganda create more handcrafted clothes, bags and rugs, which are sold to raise money for much needed help in village projects;
Sports leaders in Year 9 helped run a programme of active events for primary school children across the borough, including marshaling and timing at athletics competitions, the Go Run For Fun event, an orienteering event, rounders, tennis, golf and netball tournaments;
Launched a fundraising campaign for Christian Aid to help the needy in impoverished countries like Ethiopia.
